How Can We Know God?

I think the answer to how we can know God is found in Proverbs 2.

"My son, if you accept my words and store my commands within you,

turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding;
If you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding;

If you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden gold;

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.

Accepting God's words, storing them in our hearts, calling for wisdom, looking and searching for it in the Bible: These are things that God cannot do for us. These we must do ourselves if we want to know God and by knowing him we learn to know and love him.

Jesus said, "And this is eternal life; that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." John 17:3
