Psalm 35 - What it means to me.
Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me;
fight against those who fight against me.
Take up shield and armor;
arise and come to my aid.
Brandish spear and javelin
against those who pursue me.
Say to me,
“I am your salvation.” Verses 1-3
If there is someone who is harassing you, stalking you and intent on harming you - you can read this Psalm out loud and call upon the Lord to save you. No one can harm you without God's permission. Cry out to him for protection.
We know God does not always save the life of those who follow him. Peter, Paul, James and many others have died for God. But usually, we are not called to die for God. We can plead for rescue and he will hear us.
