Psalm 40 - What it means to me.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand. Verse 2
These verses have always brought to mind my past life before I found God. I felt stuck in living a life I didn't like. When I was a teen, I would turn to God and pray for help but I didn't believe he liked me, never mind loved me. So, after my prayer I would feel as discouraged as ever.
Now I know he lifted me up out of the mud and mire of an empty life. He set my feet on the rock Jesus and gave me a firm place to stand. I feel like my life is enveloped by God and I love it. He is the one completely steady person in my life I can always count on.
