Don't be a Mule.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you."

Psalm 32:8-9

I love these verses.

"I will instruct and teach you": What a great promise! The God of the whole universe teaching us.

"With my eye upon you": Think of this; his eye is on us always.

"Don't be like a mule." Mules and horses have to be forced to go where you want them to go. God doesn't want to force us.

"...or it will not stay near you." God wants us to stay near him because we choose to. He won't put a bit and bridle on us. We must choose to be near him; then he will teach us.
